9:20 am - 10:50 am Workshop 7: Developing A Proactive Supplier Performance Management Program

When it comes to managing multiple suppliers and corresponding sets of varying business rules, it’s critical to have a concrete supplier evaluation plan in place to have internal and external accountability, as well as justification for continuing supplier relationships in the future. Measuring and evaluating supplier performance leads to potential reduction in costs, increased process efficiency and business performance, prevention of product issues and post-payment defects, and major improvements in the supply chain. So how can you assess your suppliers to make sure they're measuring up?
•Technologies to measure supplier performance in real time
•Crafting mutually beneficial supplier scorecards so they know exactly how they’re performing against your SOW
•Obtaining the right mix of data to benchmark
•At what point do you determine your suppliers need to be audited—is there a regular schedule or review process?
•Working with underperforming suppliers to bring them back up to expectations

Long a standard of procurement methodologies, the typical RFP ends up being seen as too general, results in a "check the box" approach from vendors interested in winning the business. Companies often tend to cast a wide net so as not to miss out on an opportunity, but in the end, you're left with canned responses and the natural conclusion is just to select lowest price tag, not necessarily the best value. This session will help you decide if you:
•Can you still have real success with the traditional RFP, or are there alternative methods that will get even better results?
•Techniques to help make the procurement process more agile
•Are there specific category-specific approaches that work?

4:55 pm - 5:15 pm Presentation: Cyber Attack Central —Procurement's Role In Protecting Critical Data
In an increasingly interconnected world, having easy access to payment, personal and company information makes organizations more collaborative and efficient with suppliers, clients, and partners - but it can also pose critical security risks. For procurement professionals, this may mean the role as trusted advisor is extended further, as the average procurement team will handle thousands and thousands of pieces of data in a year. Being a conduit between a business and its many suppliers, procurement is uniquely placed to ensure a solid line of defense is in place. In this presentation, find out how you can protect your company from a potentially disastrous attack.
•How to forge a strong working relationship with the InfoSec team
•How secure are security keys and privacy filters?
•Including contracts clauses to assess security parameters and hold suppliers accountable for data security
•Developing a contingency disaster recovery plan
•Is it better to take a proactive or reactive approach?

Let’s face it - the old days of standard sourcing engagements are over. Given procurement's perfect position to shield their company from third party risks, the time has come for careful risk assessment in each and every engagement - but how do get your stakeholders and customers to understand the safest way is not always the fastest way? As risk management becomes a more imperative part of the procurement life cycle, how can you prepare your stakeholders and suppliers from a change management perspective? And what impact does the new the risk requirements imposed by both the regulatory and internal risk organizations have on the efficiency and effectiveness of a supply chain? Work it out in this in-depth workshop.

4:55 pm - 5:55 pm Spread The Wealth: Building The CPO/CFO Bond
In recent years, its become increasingly clear that an enterprise will only achieve operational excellence within both its procurement and finance operations if the CPO and CFO have a true inter-departmental partnership and achieve alignment on cash management, savings, and P2P performance. The collaboration between procurement and finance is crucial - when the relationship between these two critical departments is strained, lacking in trust, and characterized by “transactional” alliances (versus strategic ones), organizations miss out on significant value and benefits. This executive discussion will cover how can you strengthen your organization and build the CFO bond.

Contract Lifecycle Management is a keystone on the procurement operations as well as the main source of truth for data enabled strategic sourcing processes, that take into consideration or established commitments. More importantly, with a magnified focus on data privacy compliance, and the diversification of products and verticals in new tech companies, there are more and more stakeholders involved in the approval of company commitments that go beyond just legal and procurement. It is imperative to systemize and evidence the approval workflows in order to adhere to contract compliance, which we consider one of the pillars of the Procurement and Strategic Sourcing function.
