Andy Murray

Andy Murray’s procurement teams delivered well over $1 billion in total savings under his leadership at two of the world’s largest food & beverage corporations:  Mars, Inc. and Nestle, Inc. After first earning valuable experience as a factory manager and logistics director, Andy found his passion in procurement. His operational grounding and stakeholder connectivity allowed him to effectively transition to delivering best-in-class procurement results. 

Over the years, he developed and implemented strong Lean Procurement best practice strategies for his teams and businesses. This includes ongoing goal alignment with robust measures for several key drivers. His commitment to coaching, people development, and effective communications empower Andy’s teams to consistently perform at the highest levels. 

In 2016, he made the leap from the food & beverage industry to life sciences. “Joining Gilead has been an exciting and rewarding experience,” Andy said, “and to go from providing fuel to develop a great tasting pizza (for example) to helping in some small way with saving patient lives is a real honor.”  His Gilead team motto is: “More Savings=More Science.”

Andy recently moved with his family to San Francisco from Orange County, Ca. He remains a lifelong Angels baseball fan.
