This session runs in two parts. First you'll use AI tools yourself, then you'll look closely at the AI-powered recommendations solution providers are putting in front of procurement teams.
Part 1: Hands-On with ChatGPT
Bring your laptop and work through real procurement tasks alongside your peers: drafting RFP language, summarizing supplier contracts, preparing for negotiations, and making sense of spend data. You'll see which prompts work, where the tools fall short, and how to check what they give you. You'll leave with workflows you can use right away. No technical background is needed.
Part 2: Trusting AI-Powered Recommendations
More and more procurement applications are moving beyond traditional automation by recommending suppliers, flagging risks, and suggest alternatives. When should buyers act on those recommendations, and what should they ask before they do? To frame the conversation, Melissa will share preliminary findings from her doctoral research on how procurement professionals evaluate trust in AI-enabled technology.
Who should attend:
• Procurement professionals at any level who want practical experience with generative AI
• CPOs, sourcing leads, and category managers who evaluate technology vendors
• Solution providers who want to hear directly how buyers decide whether to trust their AI
